Guys, guess what?! It’s Done!!!! My Double Wedding Ring Quilt is official quilted, bound, wrapped, and totally 100% complete.

Why a Double Wedding Ring Quilt?
About a year ago I finished my first crib size quilt with a super minimalist easy pattern that I cut and pieced in two days. I had it fully quilted in less than a week and I was feeling overly confident with my quilting abilities.
Not long after my sister-in-law got engaged and I quickly came across the classic double wedding ring pattern that immediately became my ideal wedding present to them.
Off I go to the quilt shop.
I walk in and tell them I just started quilting (like, only a week ago) and that I’m looking to make a double wedding ring.
They literally started laughing at me.
I wish I was kidding.
Instead I just brushed it off (Remember I was way over confident over here) I decided I was going to do it and that was that. It’s just sewing two pieces of fabric together over and over again, what’s the big deal?
Now that its done, I understand why they laughed.
The Quilt Reveal

Bam!
Here she is in all her wonderful cyclical glory. She came out way better than I was expecting.
It wasn’t hard, but man it was a lot of work.
Piecing the rings never seemed to end and every day I worked on it took more and more effort to push through.
But with perserverance and the determination I finally got it all done, with only days to spare before the wedding.
Is it technique executed perfectly?
No, of course not
Are there things I would change if I could redo it?
Sure are.
But for my second quilt ever, it came out pretty amazing, and I learned so much in the process that I know everything I make going forward will just get better and better.

This gem is 100% pieced and quilted by myself on my domestic sewing machine. It was certainly a lot of work for my little Singer, but she made it through like a champ.
I like custom quilting because I will only get better at free motion quilting by practicing it. Also because I love the look, but not the price to have someone else professionally do it.
So might as well hone my own skills and become a jack of all quilting trades.
