I have officially finished my latest project, this project is so easy and quick I finished this quilt in a day! Its the stitch and flip baby quilt! 

A year or two ago I was at Joann’s and my husband pulled a small jelly roll out of a bin and decided he liked the fabrics and convinced me to find a reason to use it. It ended up sitting on a table for about a year before I started this stitch and flip technique tutorial from earlier this year. 

I didn’t need a huge amount of fabric for the tutorial so I finally found a reason to use the jelly roll. Not long after I started working on the tutorial, COVID decided to hit.

And then I thought, “Huh, guess its going to be a quarantine quilt now! Just have to find fabric to finish the rest of it!”

I pulled a couple of whites together from my (unfortunately very limited) stash and finished off this cute quarantine quilt! 

Oh the quilty personality it has

The scrappiness of this quilt ended up being great for this quarantine situation where I couldn’t get to a quilt store, and buying online took a month and a half to deliver. 

I just pulled leftovers of anything I had hanging around and worked it in. 

And now my sewing room is 10 times cleaner!

Making a Stitch and Flip Quilt

If you are a beginner, never-made-a -quilt-before beginner, this is seriously the best technique to start with. 

There is literally no way to mess up the blocks in it so all you have to do is focus on the basics.

A Quilt in a DAY!

I stayed pretty basic with the quilting on this one. Since I was working on another quilt at the time, I just went with straight lines about a half inch apart.

If you read my article on the chevron baby quilt, you’ll know I struggled hard with keeping lines perfectly spaced and ended up investing in a walking foot quilting guide kit. 

This thing is amazing. 

My chevron baby quilt took me two weeks to quilt in order to have perfectly spaced lines. 

With this kit, I literally finished this quilt in a day, with plenty of day left to spare even.

ONE DAY.

Oh it makes me so sad to know this existed when I was doing the chevron quilt. This simple cheap kit will seriously save you from all the tediousness of trying to mark out perfectly spaced lines the DIY way. HIGHLY recommend.
